It's been a couple years since we've cruised HAL. I thought I read somewhere that it costs extra for the sauna and steam room. Is this true aboard the Oosterdam? Also, does the place where you get the free espressos and cookies still free or does it even still exist?
Thanks much!

There is a charge on the Vista ships for the sauna and steam, so that includes the Oosterdam. Don't quote me, but I think it's $15/day. Someone else will answer.

The Java Cafe is no longer around on the Vistas, but there is a new Windstar Cafe. It is a lovely place, a large selection of specialty coffees at a nominal charge, hot and cold, and pastries. Starbucks afloat. We thoroughly enjoyed the Windstar and thought it was a vast improvement over the Java. :)

Peaches is correct. I will add that at the beginnng of the cruise check with the Spa, because they do offer custom unlimited use packages for the week. Also, you will pay for your coffee or pastry in the Windstar Cafe, but it is good!

Suanas are still free--they are located on the way into the spa between the pool and spa--inside is the steam and other EXTRAS!

There is no charge for the the sauna. The charge of $15.00 per day is for the Hydropool and Thermal Suite

On the Zuiderdam, we paid for the cafe' mochas and cappuccinos, but the pastries were free.
