On the deck plans it looks like the VD balconies toward the stern of the ship ( i.e. 4123 and higher) are larger than the VD balconies toward the front of the ship (i.e. 4044 to 4053). Is that accurate or are they all the same size?
Also, can the balcony dividers be completely opened or can they just open a small walkway?

Can't answer about the size of the balconies.

But -- the balcony dividers can not be removed. I assume that you are traveling with friends. There is a small door near the railing that can be opened. Ask you cabin steward to open it for you. At the door is a latch that he will be able to hook the door open so that it won;t bang when the ship is moving.

I believe from looking at the deck layout of deck 4 that the VD's are all the same size, with the exception(s) of VD 4051, 4052, 4131 and 4132, which are slightly larger due to Handicap access.

As for the Verandah/Balcony door partition/divider here is a photo taken by English_In_Spain that shows the small door closed and another with it opened (different ship, but same for all the Vista Class Ships):

We just came off the Eurodam (Signature class so I am not sure if it is exactly the same as the Vista) and we were in VD4048. The balcony is deeper on this deck for the VD rooms than the higher decks. We do plan on booking a VD room if we are on the Eurodam in the future as I found the extra space on the balcony very nice (for less money than the same rooms on higher decks with the regular balcony)
