We are considering the Regent Cruise from Beijing to Bangkok fall 2010. We are looking for advice on shore excursions, etc. Is this a good trip? It would be our first Regent cruise.

We are booked on the Oct. 4 cruise. There are some great trips on this tour. We have spent 1 month in China previously. This is our second regent cruise. We have not been on the navigator. We have around 20 cruises under our belt on Celebrity and Azamara. Regent is definitely a huge step up. We wanted this cruise because of the Vietnam portion (husband served 3 tours flying helicopters).

It's a great trip. We actually did Osaka-Hong Kong-Bangkok in 2006. After we disembarked in Bangkok, we flew to Siem Reap to see Angkor Wat, which was truly amazing--you need several nights there.
The only drawback with the cruise is that it is the rainy season, and we had quite a bit of rain in Vietnam and Thailand. That said, I know that in some years, the weather has been fine.
