Hello all,
Im booked to go on the Thomson Dream (i know, i know) in 5 weeks. Im thinking of taking out the AI drinks deal but i'd like to know exactly what is included in this deal before buying. Ive recently read about them reinstating the AI to how it was previously thankfully, but as I said it would be nice to get a comprehensive list of what's available in terms of wines/spirits and especially beers.

Also is it normal drinks prices on board should we not choose to take the AI drinks deal

Thanks

Hi, I am sure if you search this site other people have uploaded copies of the drinks list, and it is quite comprehensive. Prices are quite reasonable, roughly similar to pub prices back home. I expect if you take it out at this late stage you will be paying in the region of £400 per couple so you would have to drink a lot to make it worthwhile.
Try this link it was posted by grannypops who has done a couple of useful posts ref the AI

Hi Lisbon,
The AI drinks package includes all your branded spirits such as smirnoff etc. There is a slight charge for some bottled beers etc although draught lager included in AI but all the cocktails are included in the package. All in all it's well worth going AI if you like a good drink.
When you on the Dream? I'm going on the 20th July.
Cheers Broon 1967

Hi Lisbon look forward to bumping into you maybe. There's quite a few of us going. Where you from? I stay in Hamilton.
Anyway hope all the problems have been sorted because if it's anything like their other ship the Spirit then you'll love it mate. I was on the Spirit 2 years ago as a first time cruiser and had a ball. I went on the Independence of the Seas last year but have to say although it was a smashing ship it just didn't have the same atmosphere as the Spirit.

Hi I was on the Destiny in May and was on Stella. It was o.k.( not the wife beater) and didn't have a headache in the morning like i did the year before. They must have changed it. Nice to see they have the AI back and not the cheap drinks.

That's great news.

Which bar serves strongbow? whichever one it is I'll be there or my husband will be playing waiter.

I enjoy the cocktails but get bored of them after a while and a glass (or 2) :D of Strongbow when you've been on an excusion is so refreshing.

Thanks for all your input and I am determined to enjoy my holiday smell or no smell!!:)

We booked AI for October on Saturday, and it was £378 for a couple. That was from a Thomson shop.

If you like your drink whilst on hols then its worth buying the AI option, we found nealry all drinks included and just a fraction of the cost of a drink was charged if we wanted one that was not on the list .. House wine by the glass is included at meals and the waiters are forever topping up your glass lol saying that tho we have also been on thompson cruises and not had the Ai and found our bar bill to be very very reasonable at the end of cruise..

On the celebration last year it was stella and boddington. This year Heineken, John Smiths and Strongbow. Last year I only drank the lager but this year it woulld have been larger and cider if on AI. However we didn't have AI this time but on board credit. The bottled cider with a glass of ice was a nice treat on a hot day.
Check the menu to see which cocktails are included as AI, some of them have an additional £1 charge.
Found that with no sea days and few industrial ports this year we either took and organised trip or diy. I thought overall the cost of holiday was cheaper with obc instead of paying a higher price and getting AI . Also didn't have to think about wether there was £1 add on's or not, we just had what we wanted.
It seemed strange getting of the ship in various greek ports and paying more for our drinks on land than on the ship though.

How do they work it for house wine if your not AI, we are doing our next one without, because as said above you really have to put it away to get your moneys worth, and on the next one were doing we think we will spend more time off the ship due to the nature of the ports.Rob

You just pay the price per glass and sign for it with your card, just like in the bar.
