We are looking for some "Zaandam PIs" to give us suggestions on parts of the ship to explore. We will be on the Zaandam in May for an Alaskan cruise and wanted to know where the less-traveled areas of the ship are. What decks are good for watching the view? Where do you like to go to get away from the crowds??
Also, we wondered if there is a sauna and/or steam room available at no cost? Any other complimentary things that we should explore?

My favourite time of day is coming into port first thing in the morning. Ideally, I enjoy this special time on our verandah, BUT, the very best vantage point IMHO is the observation deck forward on the Verandah Deck. Go forward on the port side to find the access. This area rarely has many (if any) pax on it, it's right below the bridge, and you can see everything.

I am sailing on March 19th. That is spring break for our daughters. We can't wait for them to check out the teen oasis. I will have plenty of time to let you know how we liked the Zaandam. Everything I have read tells me we will love it, especially the new SOE enhancements.
