YAY!!! :D Congratulations!!!!!!!

I paid mine yesterday, happy with the exchange rate, so took the plunge. (As a side note, we just took a new credit card that gives Westjet dollars, so we are using it for everything -- including a new roof, flights to Vancouver, pre-paid hotel in Vancouver, OBCs, shorex -- I bet they are kinda sorry they gave us one :) )

Enjoy your Alaskan vacation!

We have to fly on Friday evening Air Canada unfortunately. My wife and daughter and her boyfriend have to work till 3pm, but I'm off with the grandkids. Staying at the Fairmont Waterfront.

This is our second cruise to Alaska, first was on the Radiance in 2004, on our own. This time we are taking the kids with us.

Colleyberry is a childhood nick name.:D We had planned to stay at the Fairmont Waterfront...but opted for a cruise package with the Sutton Place .Hotel. The Fairmont looks lovely... have a safe flight and a wonderful cruise with your family:) Alaska awaits!!:D

Colleyberry, it is RBC Westjet Mastercard. The whole process has been pretty disorganized so far, but we are hoping that the flight rewards are worth the aggravation :) It also provides some insurance for out of country travel, which our other cards don't in any meaningful fashion.

We just returned from the Zuiderdam r/t Vancouver on June 5th and had a wonderful cruise.

We love the inside passage and which ever HAL ship that we're on. The Zuiderdam, the crew, and the food were outstanding.

Have a great cruise and don't forget that review when you return!!!

Hi Colleen and congratulations on the final payment! No backing out now....yeh, like that would ever happen. ;)

This feels like a deja vu moment for me because I stayed at Sutton Place last year before my Alaska cruise...on the Zuiderdam...in an aft cabin...just like you, except mine wasn't a wrap suite. :p So many similarities...I'm beginning to wonder if we weren't separated at birth?

In order to keep this feeling going, would you be so kind as to have a couple of cocktails at the Sutton Place bar...it's a really great place. Now, I'll tell you a little secret....the bartender that was there in May '09 had a brother who was a wine steward on the Zuiderdam. The bartender gave me a note to give to his brother asking him to send me a complimentary bottle of wine (of course, there were a few "family-type" words as well). (While sitting at the bar, we had a chance to chat each other up quite a bit.) Anyway, I found the wine steward after the first night's dinner and received the wine, along with a very nice note, 3 days into the cruise, delivered by my room steward. The folks at my table kept asking if I'd received the wine each evening and all were very excited when I fnally showed up at dinner with it. Maybe the same bartender will still be there....ya never know.

Have a fabulous cruise to my favorite U.S. state.

Diane

P.S. I loved loved loved Vancouver and my first visit to our wonderful neighbors in Canada. :)

Hi Diane
Thank you for the wine story ,such fun.....we are staying in the condo type suites pre cruise and the hotel proper post cruise. Apparently lots of celebrities stay there, any sightings.?:D

Yes sister friend we do love our "wakeviews" I shall toast a sunset in your honor and you can be sure I will cherish every moment of our cruise

So glad you loved Vancouver ,one of our favorite cities.
Colleen

P.S. Not sure how I'd explain chatting up a bartender and then him passing me a note to DH :D:D
