Hotel On Ocean in Cocoa Beach/Port Canaveral

Hello, I'm now going on the Zaadam for two weeks beginning April 9th. I am going to fly into Orlando a day or two early and wanted to get recommendations for a nice ocean front hotel that is close to the port but is also relaxing and quiet. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Check Expedia for a list of hotels in Canaveral/Cocoa area, then call them.

RonJon has a beautiful resort - also-check Tripadvisor.com.

Tip:some of the cheaper ones are not in the best condition. Have fun.

Steer clear of the Hilton. It's a DUMP!! (at least as of Jan 2004)

Have stayed at the Hilton & the Doubletree while in Cocoa Beach. Both are right on the beach, and the direct beach access makes them attractive to us. The AAA tour book rates both as 3 diamond quality, but I believe that's a generous rating since both hotels are in need of refurbishment. Neither is top shelf, but I wouldn't go so far as to call either a "dump." Both hotels remain popular because of location, i.e. direct beach access, convenience to shopping, proximity to restaurants and 20 minutes from the cruise terminal in Pt Canaveral.
I believe the RonJon is a newer facility, but I've never stayed there.

Clarion is not on the beach but fairly easy to access and close to shopping, etc. It is not a dump but is not great either. We paid $79 a nite there in Dec.
