We're booked in an aft VA cabin, is it worth it to upgrade to an SS cabin amidship?

Room size?
Amenities?
Location?

An SS is larger than the VA's. From looking down at the verandah's from the Lido deck they seemed quite small.

SS have larger verandah, bathroom with double sinks, separate shower stall and jacuzzi tub. Amenities the same for both. It's the S suites that have all the extra amenities like priority boarding, disembarkation, tendering, use of Neptune Lounge, free laundry and other stuff.

There are a few pictures of an SS on the Oosterdam in my photo file on Yahoo. Gives a fairly good idea of what a midships SS is like. http://photos.yahoo.com/randyk_47 (http://photos.yahoo.com/randyk_47)

The SS suite is larger than a VA, but the balcony will be smaller than than the aft VA balcony. I had an aft balcony on the Oosterdam in Jan 04 and loved it better than the SS on the Zuiderdam in Jan 03. I am booked on an aft VA in April on the Oosterdam. I enjoy the large balcony.

Randy, thanks for the photos. I'm booked in an SS on the Westerdam for Nov of this year ... your photos are excellent in helping me visualize what the cabin will be like. Thank you!

Greg, you will be absolutely spoiled by the SS. Our first was on the Zuiderdam. Very nice having room to move around, and with the curtains open the cabin is bathed in natural light during daylight. Better hit your parishoners up for a bit higher salary so you can afford to continue booking large! ;)

RevNeal - Here's thanking you for thanking me. :) Seriously, you're more than welcome. Anytime I can help out a fellow CC'er and Texan I'm more than happy to do it. An SS is a great cabin. My DW and I really did enjoy it and for a 7 day cruise really didn't feel we lost or missed out by not having a full suite. The extra room over a standard verandah cabin was much appreciated.
