We are considering an Eastern Caribbean on the Westerdam next December. Where exactly are the glass elevators located....I can't tell from the deck plans. Also is port or starboard better for the eastern Caribbean? Any other suggestions? I am planning to pick a balcony cabin but somewhat flexible on which category...are there any differences besides location?

Exterior glass elevators are midships on each side. Check deck plan on HAL website - same location on all Vista ships.

You will not be sorry on the Westerdam
As the last post said, the elevators are in the middle of the ship, on both sides.
People can see the verandahs around the elevator from inside the elevator.
I would spend the little extra money and get a cabin in SS catagory, its a mini suite w/o suite perks, but its an awesome cabin with a huge verandah (seems twice the size of normal verandah cabins), with great space, closets, and a large bathroom with whirlpool tub!!! Cant beat the value of it.

Recently returned from Westerdam Eastern Carib cruise and for the most part, port = dockside, so you might want to book starboard. :)
