We are staying at Hotel Mediterraneo is there a supermarket close by as would like to buy,beer,wine and shampoo before we go on our cruise.

The hotel is next to Termini metro station about five minute walk.

There are a good number of shops in Termini itself. I know there is a DeSpar supermarket that is a good size (for central Rome). The link below shows what's available in Termini and if you click on Supermarkets and then on DeSpar, it will give you more info, such as the exact location.

It's probably your best bet in the nearby area.

I just stayed at the Hotel Mediterraneo in December. What a great hotel! Be sure to check out the rooftop terrace. It is one of the tallest buildings in Rome. The train station is a good place to find some things, but like US airports, things can be expensive. The concierge at the front desk directed us to all of the places we wanted to go. I am sure he will be able to help you out with your list.

There is a large supermarket with good prices and selection opposite "Maria Maggiore" Basilica. It is down steps to the entrance.
