Did anyone on recent cruises take the St Barts trip from Phillipsburg?
Would love to hear your comments.

I assume that you are talking about the ferry from St. Martin; We have been to St. Barts before, it is really beautiful (but expensive; lunch was 100.00 for two in a not so fancy place!).

We were on the Grand Princess a few months ago, and decided against the ferry, and boy are we glad we didn't go. We spoke to some of the locals who live on St. Martin, and one of the best kept tourist secrets is how rough the water is between St. Martin and St. Barts. It is an EXTREMELY ROUGH 45 minute ferry, and unless you have an iron stomach, think twice before you do it.

(One of our tour guides actually told us a story of getting extremely ill the one time he ferried between the islands... he pointed out the direction of St. Barts, and you could see white caps and waves in the open ocean between the two islands.

Weather wise, guess we must have been lucky. Took ship's tour (Brilliance of the Seas) on the hydrofoil to St. Barts. Very plush hydrofoil and not a rough ride at all. You are on your own once you get to St. Barts (of course transportation back is included) Yes, St. Barts is very expensive; but beautiful. We walked around the town (the stores close for the "siesta" hours) and found a cab driver and had a wonderful tour of the island. Then splurged for lunch. Had a great time.
