Fcc & insurance ?

How does travel insurance work when you book a FCC? Usually the insurance company will only allow for pre-existing conditions if the purchase is made within 10 days of deposit. Do you need to purchase the insurance right away even if you may change the cruise later?

A search on the boards will find a discussion about this. But the short answer the insurance requirement doesn't apply until you commit the FCC to the cruise you are buying. So any issue about date of purchase doesn't apply until you specify which cruise the FCC is being used on. Having a FCC alone doesn't trigger any insurance purchase requirements.
