Anyone stayed here recently? Are the rooms decent? This hotel seems to be about $40-50 cheaper for their park & cruise package. I read some negative reviews online but they were from a year or two ago. Also a more recent review said they were renovating the rooms.

I have the hotel reserved but can change my reservation.

Also as far as the parking I booked their cruise rate that includes 8 days of parking but when I look on the email it says parking of $26. Do I have to pay for one night of parking too?

Thanks so much for your help!

I would love to stay at the Drury, but it is almost $50 more for the one night.

Thanks!
Danielle

:confused:We stayed at the Holiday Inn French Quarter on Royal about 5 years ago and thought it was great. The hotel has some age to it but it's so convenient to everything and the parking and shuttle to the port was great.

When I looked on TripAdvisor and saw all the negative reviews I decided to go elsewhere for our stay next year. All the stories about bugs and rooms not being cleaned kind of turned me off.

We made reservations at the Drury, not nearly as convenient to the French Quarter but highly rated and hard to find a bad review. I guess it's just a personal preference and whether or not you want to take a chance. I know that reviews aren't always accurate (2 people see the same thing and report it 180 degrees differently) but the HI reviews were just too much for me to ignore.

Whatever...have a wonderful time in NOLA and on your cruise!

The rate I was quoted for the park and cruise package was a little more than the park and cruise at the Drury. We got the Drury with a park and cruise package total for two adults at $174 including all taxes and fee's. The HI was telling me $196

I'm looking at Dec. 5 - HI is $110 for the night and Drury Inn is $120 + $35 parking....

The Marriott at the convention center is $129 if you go ahead and pay now, but I hate to do that and not be able to cancel.

I have stayed at the Royal St. Holiday Inn, a few years ago, and had no complaints. This is an excellent and superb location, vs the Drury, which, in my opinion, is not a good location- it is dead at night, and creepy, if you spend a few late nights out, and like the option to walk back and forth. (which is my priority)

You can get the Drury for $88 for that date if you really want it - pick promotional rate and enter SECRET in as the code. There would be a $25 charge if you cancel. As for parking, it would then be cheaper and more convenient to park at the port ($16/night).
