We are booked on the Eastern Caribbean on the Westerdam on 12/4/05. Any help with my questions would be greatly appreciated.

Does anybody know if the new pillow top beds are on the entire ship yet? On the informal evening are ALL men wearing sport coats or are any wearing docker type slacks and collared shirts? (DH has a tux for formal nights). Input needed on benefits of early or late dinner seatings. We normally eat fairly early, but I need to know if late has more advantages. Are there any shore excursions that shouldn't be missed? Thanks for any and all help!

On informal evenings all men are requested to wear sport coats. Full compliance is a nice dream.

We saw high 'compliance' on our recent Veendam cruise. The few folks who did not dress appropriately and according to requested dress for the evening looked out of place. The vast majority of the pax were respectful to their fellow pax and complied with the requested dress for each evening.

Yes, every cabin on the Westerdam has the new mattresses, however the pull-out sofa bed in the Suites do not have them - they would be too thick.

They are wonderful and we had the best night's sleep we have ever had. We definitely have to buy one for our bed. :D

Ruth is right "full compliance is a dream". :p DH always wears a jacket on Informal nights with his dockers and a golf shirt or short sleeve dress shirt, but I have seen many who do not. A jacket is requested, but not mandatory.

The Westeram is a beautiful ship. We got off of her last week and are booked again in March. Yes, all the beds have pillowtop mattresses. We prefer the late/main seating (8PM?) because we have time to relax and get cleaned up after being off the ship for the day and maybe have a drink on the verandah without rushing. That's just our preference. Most of the time we can also enjoy sailaway instead of getting ready for dinner.
