My husband and I just returned to Seattle this morning from a 7-Day Alaska cruise on the Rotterdam - I am sooo happy and relaxed! We had upgraded to a Deluxe Verandah Suite, and loved the space and elegance and The Neptune Lounge and its services, and really the entire ship was wonderful. Shore excursions were well-organized, the ship was elegant and spotlessly clean, the food everywhere was delicious and beautifully prepared, and we are now hooked on this cruising concept! Thanks to CC for helping me to plan the best vacation ever!

No, you were right the first time. We're addicts. And it's a wonderful addiction. If you look around the internet you'll all the support sites for cruisaholics encourage more cruising. There is no program to "cure"us because we don't want to be cured! (It's like being a chocoholic, right Ruth?)

So glad you enjoyed your cruise, noteaching. You picked a good line to start with. You'll know you're really hooked when you start booking your next cruise while on board. Or when you say "Gee, our next cruise is a whole year away. What can we book to tide us over until then?" :D:D

It's always great to hear a newcomer rave. YAY.

And thanks for posting. We get to cruise vicariously through your excitement.

Never give up the addiction!:D

Welcome home!!

Glad you had a wonderful Alaskan cruise.

Now that you are spoiled with a Deluxe Suite.......

Did you put down any $100 deposits for a future cruise??

Welcome Home!!! Glad to hear all was so well for you!! Excellent news to also learn you can now be counted amongst those of us addicts who do NOT wish for a cure to this disease of ours.:D

Glad you found HAL to be as fine an experience as many of us do. Welcome back, and have fun planning your next cruise.

On a grander scale, right. And with less fat and calories, too! :D

Welcome back from what has been one of my favorite (and most-sailed) ships. I hope she took you in with her spell.
Glad to read the excitement in your post.

Now the PCB's will set. Post Cruise Blues. The only cure is to book another cruise and have others in the wings as well. Welcome back. Looking for a review. Colakid.

Great to hear! Can't wait to sail on the Rotterdam and enjoy a deluxe suite next month.

I hope that you will consider posting a review on the CC member review page. The 3 most recent reviews of the Rotterdam have been scathing.

Sounds like you did everything right-sailed on HAL and in a deluxe verandah suite-way to go! We loved having access to the Neptune lounge and felt very spoiled being able to pop in there. Glad you enjoyed yourself. My son and his girlfriend did the same cruise on the Rotterdam in May (ocean view though) and also loved the ship.

So glad to hear you had a wonderful time. And thank you for letting us all know. We leave next Sat and were a bit nervous given some of the recent reviews; however, after reading your comments (and Himself's & Tracy's), I think I can set those aside. We're so looking forward to our trip.

Ditto Willsot's request for some positive reviews of the Rotterdam. Mom and I are sailing on 8/14 and I'll be sure write a detailed and glowing review (as I'm already certain we will have a wonderful time!), but the most recent ones have just been mean. Someone needs to defend this grand lady!

Those reviews are just seem a bit strange. I'm not saying they're trolls or don't deserve to post their opinions. I am not trying to stage a flame war or revolt here. I guess I feel that what bugged them (not having Indian food which I adore or expired aspirin) just wouldn't get me down. Maybe someone else would find their reviews more helpful than I did. I also find it hard to believe that it would be difficult to get a decent meal. Sure, some things might be better than others or more to my liking, but surely there's something for everyone right?? I mean there's gonna be ice cream and cotton candy not to mention chocolates on my pillow. That alone makes me a happy camper. ;)

Btw, I think a part of it was cut off. Could that be?

Lilipad2, I couldn't agree more! Except to add, "and not having to do the dishes for a week!" :D
