If you've stopped at Costa Maya, can you please give me some suggestions on what to do there other than an "official" excursion? As always, thanks in advance!

There are a few touristy shops as well as a couple of restaurant/bars, the saltwater pool and places to lay in the sun on the beach or around the pool.

Otherwise - Nada Mas...

Costa Maya is a beach day. If you don't like the beach there really isn't much else to do. Our last trip there our wives stayed at the port and swam in the pool with the swim up bar. They had some locals perform on a stage near the pool. They enjoyed themselves.

Us guys went into town, $5 pp roundtrip taxi and rented jetskis. There are a few little restaurants at the beach where you jet ski.

When you leave the cruise area, just outside you can rent a golf cart.... deal with them, and get a better deal. We did this last year and then drove ino town, stopping along the way to take lots of pictures of birds, iguanas and local fishermen. I thought it was great fun and my husband and I had a wonderful day.

Just there a few weeks ago on the Grand Princess. In the port area there many shops, a pool, and some entertainers. We took a bus/taxi into town ($5 rt) and went to the beach. Very relaxing. There are several bars and little shops in the town (Mahajual) and it's only a few miles away from the pier. Also can get a nice massage right on the beach for only $25. Enjoy it.
