I thought I read somewhere that the Eurodam has "waiter service" in the lido at dinner time. We sometimes have dinner in the lido when cruising, and the great benefit of the lido is that we all can just go up, pick the food we want, then be seated and eat. Trying a little or a lot of several different things. If it is a waiter service though, that would screw up the whole thing.

Can someone explain the "waiter service" in the lido?

Also, please confirm that HAL ships still have the awesome bread pudding every day.

I understand that not all ships do it this way, but on some you carry your own appetizer/salad & rolls to the table, and a waiter will bring the entree you ordered at the "register" when it is ready. The waiters will also come around with drinks. You get your own dessert.

AFAIK all ships have the bread pudding every day.

In March on the Eurodam the Lido dinner operated the same way as the lunch, all self-serve buffet.

On the larger ships -- Vista class and Signature class (Eurodam is Singature class) -- everything for dinner is all buffet -- you get all courses yourself.

We were just on the Eurodam in June. Lido was all buffer, although the 'waiters' would come around and ask about drinks, but that was all.

Could you be referring to the Canaletto? That is the reservation only Italian Dining (Dinner only) which does have waiter service. Its has a permanent place in one corner of the lido dining room. Its used for general seating at lunch/breakfast, but at dinner time, its a specialty (no fee) restaurant.
