Buying cigarettes on the ship

Last year when we sailed on Princess we could buy a carton of cigarettes on board, however, they would not let you have them until the last day of the cruise when they would deliver them to our stateroom. The only way to buy cigarettes to use onboard was to buy a pack in one of the lounges at a considerably higher price. I am wondering if HAL has a similar policy or, like the other lines we have traveled on, you can buy a carton the first night for personal use during the cruise.

You can buy as many as you want and take them back to your cabin. They do not have a big selection of brands/types, so if you want a particular brand, suggest you bring them from home.

We purchased cigarettes on the Oosterdam last March and took them back to our cabin without any problem. As mentioned they only have the mainstream brands and very little variety. Just happened they had ours.

I was on the statendam in December, I purchased 8 cartons and was given them right then to take back to my cabin.No problems. But the 2 bottles of liquior they kept till the last day and delivered it to my cabin.:) Christine

Thanks all for the information. We leave on Wednesday and am trying to
complete the packing list. Don't want to get stuck again like I did on the Legend last Sept.

Oops! Said Legend.........was Golden Princess.........umm.....must be an omen, maybe I am suppose to book another cruise on the Legend?!?!

did that ship have Marlboro 100's in cartons for pax to use?

Vic - Yes they did. In fact, I was surprised to see also the light and ultra light versions.
