My new favorite for breakfast, lunch or dinner is Columbian Grace on Petronia, just past Blue Heaven. So that'd be it.

For Brunch on the weekend: Azur. I love this place and they have key lime pie stuffed french toast! They also have a good weekday lunch.
Blackfin also has a good lunch, and is on the 900 block of Duval.

When we stayed in Key West last May for a few days we had lunch at Alonzo's (http://alonzosoysterbar.com/) and then went back another day for happy hour. It has a nice view along the water and great food. Their happy hour menu is an incredible value, but it might start too close to your ship's departure.

The place I prefer above all others for lunch in Key West is the restaurant out on Sunset Key. The view is so fabulous. Just a few months ago they innaugurated their new restaurant. The original one was very nice, but the new one is even ncier if that can be possible.
To get there, you have to go out on the Westin boat which is free. You make reservations with the concierge of the Westin. The concierge desk is just inside the Westin gift shop.
The boat ride takes about ten miniutes and is a treat also because you go right out past the cruise ships. You can get some interesting photo ops of the ships at dock as you go by. We have seen dolphins playing in the water on some of the boat trips to and from Sunset Key.
Another place we have had good lunches is Louie's Backyard. The view there is amazing too. This place is high end. I have seen people come, be seated, read the menu and get up and leave. I advise reading the menu that is posted on the front porch before you go in.

My timeshare is right next to Louis Backyard and I can agree that the view is spectacular. The prices there are pretty steep but the food is really good. We don't eat there often but we do sit at the bar for drinks quite often. The have a new area up stairs that have tapas but I am not sure of the prices there. It is at least worth the walk down for a drink.

Not sure about seafood, but my recommendation for key lime pie would be the Blond Giraffe. We also tried Kermit's and Blue Heaven, but both DH and I agreed that the Blond Giraffe was our favorite. You might want to check out the thread dedicated to key lime pie for other suggestions (I think it's a sticky posted at the top of this Key West board).

Thanks for the recommendation. The Key Lime Pie Stuffed French Toast was really, really good. Got to be a little too sweet as I neared the end, but I finished it anyway. :)
On the other hand, my friend ordered the hash and eggs
Hash and Eggs, Shredded beef rib and Yukon gold potato hash topped with two poached eggs and truffle Hollandaise $14.75
It was simply AMAZING!!! I am moving away from Florida in December and will definitely be making a trip back down to KW before I leave just so I can have that meal. I still can't get over how good it was. As much as I liked the KLP french toast, I wish I had ordered the hash and eggs instead! Yummmm!

I would go back right now if I was in Key West, go to Fogertys on Duval Steet across from The Bull, the best big juicy hamburgers ever. I had the BarBQue burger it was great, DH had the Blue Cheese Burger he loved it. Also the onion rings are wonderful. My mouth is watering, if only there were a Forgertys in NW Arkansas

We wouldn't rave about Fogarty's food but it's always been OK, and is nice for dining outdoors and people watching on Duval:)
Schooner Wharf's food is average, but the Old Key West atmosphere makes it worthwhile on occasion. Some people will say they've been cited by the health dept in the past, but it hasn't killed me yet:D
For good food at a reasonable price we usually eat a lunch or dinner at Jack Flat's when we're in Key West for a week.
Another vote for Blonde Giraffe for Key Lime pie.

Mike:)
I don't know about "refused to obey" but Big'Uns was shut down 9/30/10 for one day until they corrected issues. The inspection mentioned "rodent activity as evidenced by rodent droppings found" in several areas.
Same thing for B.O.'s Fishwagon -- closed for one day 4/30/10 until they met inspection.
Surprise -- Hot Tin Roof was temporarily shut down for a few hours on 4/20/10 for 17 critical issues including one that involved "rodent activity . . . "
I could go on and on. The point is, issues are found and corrected in many places. It's a pretty common occurrence.

Yes rodents are common in food service but the Schooner Wharf had failed inspection several times and had done nothing to correct the problem. When ordered closed by the health dept Evalena refused and the KWPD had to be involved to forcibly close the place.
It was a front page story in the local fish wrapper.

We just visited Key West on Monday and had lunch at Caroline's Cafe. Seating was outdoors. I had the fish sandwich and my mom had the steak sandwich (like the Mr. Hero hot buttered steak type). Both were huge, came with fries, and very good, about $9.00 each. Service was quick and friendly.

As someone who lives in Key West, I can tell you Schooner Wharf is not somewhere I, or anyone else I know would eat. Great atmosphere, great drinks, but skip the food.
A great food truck if you do not want to skip the crowds at BOs is Garbo's. This is a food truck on Green Street with the best fish tacos in town. Nowhere to sit, but worth getting one to go. You should also get off Duval and find Sarabeth or Azur for a more upscale lunch. Finally, I agree with the posters about the Blackfin Burgers and fries. Delish!

Banana Cafe Duval eat upstairs on the porch -- crepes
carolines - casual
southernmost cafe - that is one of the better beaches as well.
They keep up with the seaweed and there is usually music next door
at the hote - it's very enjoyable.
Very very casual - Ana's cuban cafe - across from the reception area of the
