Hey romantic types,
My wife and I are escaping for her "birthentines" day celebration on the Zuiderdam....we are blessed with an S class suite and I am looking for ideas for a "personal" formal night experience with dinner in the cabin or on the veranda if the weather is good.
Anyone tried working this with the concierge on the Zuiderdam in a suite? All ideas are welcome as I want this to be really special as she really deserves the best!

I would recommend dinner in the Pinnacle one evening.
Another recommendation would be to order the dozen roses from Ship Services. They are beautiful and will last the entire cruise.

For a little different twist you can send 11 roses and on the card message write: "On a scale of one to ten, I think you're an eleven" and then how ever you'd normally sign it. Very romantic and lots of brownie points :)

You get a coursage and boutonaire (sic) on the first formal night. If that is not the night of your party keep them in the frig and they will stay for a few days. Order a bottle of bubbly or use the bottle that comes with the S cabin. Put on your formal attire and shut off most of the lights.

Since you are an "S" classer, you should have a few more options! Either the concierge or the Resturant Manager should be able to help you plan something special. You can also try the Hotel Manager. I have worked with both of these Managers in the past and they CAN get things done if you ask in advance! Give them as much time as you can to plan the details though!!!

I think Pinnacle on Zuiderdam to be a romantic restaurant and have very warm memories of an intimate engagement dinner we enjoyed there. Very dear friends of ours became engaged at dinner.
We were a small group and could not have enjoyed ourselves more. It was a very beautiful evening that we all enjoyed very much and have such fond memories of.

First let me say what a terriffic thoughtful guy you must be.
Now IMHO I think you should begin with something wonderful like Chocolate covered strawberries and (electric) candles. Of course I don't know her tastes so you may need to pick something that she loves to eat.....something special.

electric candles!! that solves another problem!!
she does love the strawberries with the champagne.
Has anyone gotten a table cloth and china along with dinner on the balcony?
You guys have been great about this and I really appreciate it...keep the romance coming!

What about starting the romance off early in the day? You could book a spa treatment for her during the day to really pamper her, it is a nice thought if you know what she likes (manicure, facial, body treatment, etc.) and can book it for her as a surprise. You will need to book that in advance (first day for sure) as I have heard the appointment times go fast.
I always find the little things are romantic - here are my favourites...
- hubby gets up first and says "don't worry, you sleep a few minutes longer, I'll shower first"
- a note on my pillow after my afternoon nap saying he loves me and is waiting on the balcony with a refreshing drink for me
- relaxing by the pool he offers to get up for a drink refill
- an evening walk around the promenade, hand in hand
- he insisting that we get a photographer to take our picture because "hon, you look amazing!"
A thought, an extra effort and a little compliment, go a super long way! Have fun!

Our next door neigbors in one of the Prinsendam Suites had their dinner served up on observation deck one night. A table with cloth, silverware and crystall glasses was set up behind a windbreaker so they were protected against the wind. They could order from the regular dining room menu and everything was brought up course by course.
They said it was very special and romantic.
I'm sure the concierege will be happy to arrange something like this.
