We've taken mostly Princess cruises and our firends wound on on the lowest deck on the Golden Princess...apparently right over some sort of water reserve and near the stabilizers...between the sloshing, creaking and guggling sounds, it was a nightmare...Now we're faced with chosing an outside on the Eurodam..,,it's not clear if there would be a nosie problem with choosing this deck..can't tell what's below deck one...any past cruisers who stayed on deck one shed some light, please?

I believe it is similar to the Vista Class ships, Oosterdam, Noordam, Westerdam and Zuiderdam. On those ships the Crew Quarters, Housekeeping, Medical Center and many other crew areas are below Deck 1.
You should not have any problems or worries.

When choosing, look at the deck plans. You probably won't want to be too close to the front desk area. We did the Q&A session with the CD last time and there are at least 4 levels below deck one for crew and storage. I think you will find that you are well above the water.

There are actually about four to five crew decks below the Main Deck.
Of course, those are off limits to passengers with the exception of Deck A.

Below deck 1 there are also storage areas, kitchen prep areas, refridgerators etc.

I stayed on main deck when on the Eurodam and did not have any problems...we were actually not far from the front desk and were a bit concerned that it would be noisy when we got onboard but was perfecty quiet the whole trip. Have a great cruise.

I meant there is at least one deck of crew cabins, as opposed to decks with noise-producing equipment which concerned the OP.
