We will be staying at the Renaissance hotel on 17th. I know there is a Walgreens across the street. Can you buy liquor there? Or is there a liquor store nearby?

I believe it`s at 17th and Cordova.

A couple of blocks up from Walgreens there are the Harbor Shops on Cordova.

There are 2 places where you can buy wine -- Publix and Total Wine. Most people shop at Total Wine.

Total Wine is fantastic! Great selection, great prices and is very close to the Renaissance. :)

HAL only allows wine, soft drinks and water to be brought on board.

Apparantly, anything, except beer and hard liquor!:)

I checked on HAL's website. It seems that you can prepay for a bottle of Liquor to be delivered to your cabin. Does anyone know what size these bottles are? If they are liters, then the prices aren't too bad. If they are 1/5's then they are a bit steep.

Also, if you have it delivered to your room at embarkation do they apply sales tax? It seems that they charge sales tax when the ship is in Port Everglades for drinks.:(

They are Liters. If you select the "deliver at sea" option you should not be charged tax (YMMV)
