Bon Voyage to all!
For those of you going to Alaska---I wish you as good weather (and as good a time) as I had.
Jim---last I heard (last night), we were on the lower probability side of getting Earl. No guarantees, and the Atlantic should be bumpy, but there's a good chance everything will be all right.

Thanks, guys. Things are looking a bit better today than yesterday insofar as the forecast is concerned. I know we'll have rain and rough seas at first; but I think we can handle that. I just pray that those living along the coast will not suffer the devistation visited upon them by former hurricanes. Let's hope this one bends farther out to sea.

Jim, although no one can predict yet just where Earl is going to go, the local 6:00 PM weather forecast had us on the western edge of the cone, with the storm going south of the islands (Long Is., Block Is., Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket). Then out to sea, eastward. The Cape is projected to be impacted, and eastern Maritimes. But, that is before you get there.
We are forecast (as of now) to have winds at tropical storm strength Friday night and early Saturday; Boston looked to be even further away from the storm, and consequently less impact.
