As I predicted our Docs did come in last Friday but I had already left for San Diego. I was able to pick them up from my TA this evening. Unfortunately I had to do the Doc Dance with DH over the phone.

That was the only good thing about today, right after I picked up the Docs I am at the grocery store and DS calls to tell me he was in a car accident, in his Dad's Car because his car is in the Body Shop from his previous accident. Luckily neither him or his GF were hurt. The other car had very little damage, but of course since DS was cited the two other people in the other car went to the hospital via ambulance. When do Sons finally grow up he is 25:( ?

Hard to celebrate the the Doc Dance right now.

Lisa,

That's great news - good for you. I'm sorry to hear about your son's accident please to continue reading that he is fine. Regarding your parting question:

I am the middle of five sons and I'm 47. But my dear Mother will tell you that sons don't grow up. Ever. :)

Anyway, enjoy your countdown. The Westerdam is lovely and I'm sure you will enjoy the ship. I'm looking forward to my second sailing on Oosterdam and have enoyed your pictures and information on San Diego. Thanks for the effort!

Cheers!

Lisa: congratulations on the tickets! Bummer about DS! It's tough being the parent some times, even when the kids are over 21. It COULD be a whole lot worse!!!!

Think positive thoughts and take a rain check on the dancing!

Can't do the doc dance yet as we are the week after you. Like you, our DS had an accident yesterday & is fine, wrecked his truck, still lives at home and is 25. I guess we'll still have him with us when we retire. We kid him that DD will be out of the house before him. She's 17 & going to Purdue in the fall. No, we never stop being a parent.

Igt, OMG what a coincidence. I thought by now I would be worry free. We actually were for several years. He really had his act together and moved out of the house at 19. But this last year has been one bad thing after another, you would think he was 17 again. That is actually why we started cruising a lot, figured he had his act together and did not have to worry about things on the home front. He WAS living away from and would come over to take car of the pets. Now he lives back at home and when I have gone out of town does less than he did when he lived away. At this point I am fearing when we leave for our cruise in March if all the animals will get fed.

Sorry you had to do the document dance alone, but at least you have yours. I have yet to receive our documents for the March 19th sailing of the Zaandam.

I also received a call from my DD about a car accident. She is 18 and has moved 7 hours away. I was lucky this time, someone hit her parked car and she wasn't in it. I was holding my breath when she told me. She has wrecked one car, and been hit twice before this. Her car will be in the shop for a week or two and the insurance company found a rental car company to give her a car. I was afraid this wouldn't happen since she is only 18. I have a feeling that the worrying will never end. I have 2 children driving and 2 more to go. I sometimes wonder if I will survive this test.

Janice, Don't worry yet about your Docs. I would guess yours will arrive the first part of next week. Mine have always arrived right about the 7 week mark till the cruise. Who knows they might even arrive as early as this Friday. I think mine normally arrive at our travel agency on Fridays. Possible HAL ships them out on a Tuesday or Wednesday and they seem to always arrive in Las Vegas on Fridays.

Sorry to hear about your DD, it sounds like it has not been a good week for DD's or DS's:o

Hopefully, I will be doing the document dance with you very soon. It certainly sounds like it. I think I will have to settle for the cold and the snow and a warm drink. My sister lives in Palm Beach, FL and she said this weekend they had the lowest recorded temperature on record. I think it was 37 degrees. I guess we have to travel to the Caribbean to find a warm spot.

lisa,
Happy that you recieved your docs--that's a special day. Sorry to hear about DS's accident. Being a parent is a great joy, but the worrying never seems to end.
I heard Bevery Sills once say that once your child is born you never have another free breath--you worry about them always--no matter what the age!
Glad your son was unhurt.
I loved your photos of the OOsterdam. Instead of dinner at Anthony's we decided to visit in the early afternoon. It was very sunny then, but we could seen the massive white marine layer coming in off the ocean.
Hang in there.
