Can you rent kayaks and bikes on the island without a buying the excursions they sell? and is there a map of the island?

Edit: I'm not sure how the Hobie Cat rentals work. The description says "instruction provided" and "approximately 1 hour", not so much $ per hour. I did once see one of them being towed in by a power boat, so apparently the people either over-stayed their time or couldn't get back on their own for some reason.

You have to be on a guided tour to use the kayaks and bikes on HMC -- no independent rentals.
The maps I have seen are not very good. The last one we got on the ship showed only 10 cabanas!!
