Hey guys,

A question I am certain has been asked many times before, but I am unable to find because of Infopoop's non-working search engine.

How long is the drive via taxi (non rush hour) between San Francisco (cruise terminal pier area) and Oakland Intl. Airport?

Trying to make sure I can make a 1:50 flight after the ship docks at 8AM???

OMG...no problem at all. Allow 30-45 minutes max. minutes. It could even be 20. No need to ruch whatsoever (is that one word)?

I live right near the Oakland airport.

Gary,
While it could be just 20, or 30 minutes, it might be longer due to bridge traffic. However we've always found that the cruise line accommodates passengers who need to make airline connections by getting them off the ship early. You should have no problem at all making a 1:50 flight out of Oakland. (Born there!) BTW, we'll be on your October Mercury cruise.

Two additional thoughts Gary. If it is during the week it will be reverse commute and really easy. If it is on a weekend it will be somewhat easier eastbound (the way you are heading). The earlier you leave the better. Only complication could be if you are close to the time for an Oakland A's baseball game as the stadium is near the airport.

Another option is to go south from San Fransisco and take the San Mateo bridge. Its a little out of the way but once you hit the other side of the bay the airport is just a few miles north.

Probably would only recommend this if indeed the bay bridge was very congested.

Gary,
I wouldn't go south and take the San Mateo bridge ... stick with the Bay Bridge, SF to Oakland ... much quicker under almost any circumstances! Great deal on your airfare!
