Feedback Request: 2-day pre/post Santiago Wine Country tour?

We are looking for feedback from anyone who has taken the 2 night pre-post Santiago Wine Country tour. Besides generally impressions, did you get enough time to explore Santiago in addition to wine country?
Did you stay in a good location?

We did the two-day pre-tour in Santiago four years ago. Stayed at a Sheraton, I believe. Adequate, clean, older hotel. Since our flight arrived in the AM and there was no tour scheduled the first day, we took a private tour. I had done extensive research both online and in travel books and had a pretty good idea of what we wanted to see.

The driver picked us up at the airport and dropped us off at the hotel. He returned a couple hours later with the guide, a very nice young lady. We had a good day seeing the sights. Since they knew what we would be seeing the next day on the HAL tour we were able to avoid duplication.

Our HAL tour was on Sunday so the winery that is usually visited was closed so we were taken to another. It was very nice and a lovely lunch had been prepared for us. Then we were taken on a tour of Santiago and vacinity. We enjoyed both days very much.

Several people did walk around the area surrounding the hotel.

As I said it was four years ago, but I would imagine it would still be an enjoyable two days prior to sailing from Valpraiso.

We also spent 2 pre nights in Santiago before our South American cruise and used an independent tour guide two days in a row. He was both the driver and guide, spoke perfect English and was absolutely delightful. We enjoyed Santiago very much. I'm sure you will enjoy your tour if you book it!
