FCC's and time frame

I have 2 fcc's and am itching to use them. Time is running out!

I can't rememeber if the 4 year window is based on the 'date of booking,' or the actual sailing date. Many thanks for your replies.

The 4 year time frame is based upon the original date of booking. That is per my HAL PCC who I just asked because we are going to be booking cruises while on board during our next cruise, and have no idea yet, where we want to go and when.

I don't think I wasn't too clear in my question:o I do understand that it's 4 years from the date I actually purchased the FCC. I will try again:

Does the date of sail have to be within the 4 years, or just have the deposit applied to a future cruise within the 4 years, though the actual cruise might be 4.5 years away?? Hope that makes more sense, thanks.

Cruise has to be booked to sail before the 4 year time period is over.

OP: call the Onboard Sales Department at 800-355-3017 to be sure.

You have to make the booking using the Future Cruise Deposits within four years but you do not have to have sailed within the four years, is my understanding.

Just fished out my FCC I had handy and it says

"You have up to 4 years to redeem your Future Cruise Deposit"

which leads me to believe you can wait right up to the end of 4 year validity and then make a booking for after that date.
