Too bad we missed Halifax two weeks ago on the Montreal to Boston cruise :(

Wish we were there. We love Halifax and had a great time there three weeks ago.... but, sadly like Jade, missed it two weeks ago. All the more reason for us to book that Itinerary AGAIN. :D

Great looking day up there!

It's such a pretty port ... looking forward to my next visit, for sure. :)

We loved spending some time in the Citadel last week. We'd been up there, but never inside before. When you go, be sure to be there for the firing of the noon canon.

Oh yeah, Jim ...

Thought I'd ask you this.

When Maasdam departed from Halifax, where there pipers sending you off?
Had a big group of them piping away QM2 when she visited. Not sure if that was a one time only thing, or if it happens to every ship that departs?

Oh dear -- she is gone.

See only a Princess ship.

The Pipers Welcome Maaasdam each visit and pipe us away and have done so for years. I love when we are port (our side of the ship) to the dock and can enjoy seeing them in their plaids and hear the pipes. Wonderful.

Some stores still had their welcome signs in the window for the Queen, and we learned that the ship had been there the day before.

Halifax is indeed a lovely port stop. We found the Public Gardens downtown worth the visit. Additionally, we took the excursion to Peggy's Cove - a delightful ride giving us a chance to see the countryside. We even passed Ann Murray's house situated on a lake in a peaceful setting, just like her music.

Appreciate the info!

It's always a treat to hear the pipes ... takes me back to the UK every time!

On that Round Britain cruise I took last year, there was a person a few cabins away from me that would play the pipes every morning on thier balcony.

Needless to say, it really did brighten my day to enjoy that each morning as I relaxed with my coffee outside. :)
