They have parking at the pier for $12/day, a nearby park 'n fly, and there are also hotels with parking packages.

If you are driving, it might be better to get a rental car to the port, and rent again for the return.

Check out the website for cruise, park & fly...I was just booking my own hotel for a Dec cruise, and some hotels have extended parking, like 30 (maybe more) days. Additional days can be negotiated for extra, like $8-12/day.
Good luck!

just be aware that this is hurricane season-so when you park make sure it is not a low area- park and fly also park and go near eachother- they charge different prices for cruises /planes-the ones at the ships ports are covered if i remember but they want you to pay in cash as you pull into park-at least that was some years ago

They have parking at the pier for $12/day, ... Garage parking at the pier is $15 a day. Two years ago we parked in the long-term parking at the airport for about $9 /day IIRC, and the taxi from/to the airport cost about $13 (plus tip) each direction.
Edit: FLL Airport Economy parking is now $7.50 /day

If you are staying with Friends in Pompano Beach, check with HAL..They have a bus service throughout Florida to the port..They may have it from Pompano Beach too..
Believe HAL's transfers are about $34...
Cheers...:)Betty

From one Michigan guy to another, you also have the problem of an unattended battery in your car for 35+ days. Will likely be dead when you return if not on a tender/trickle charger. Suggest you fly and rent a car as needed. Look at Air Tran, Spirit, Delta, from Grand Rapids, Lansing, Flint and Detroit Metro.

Just a thought, but if you have a religious affiliation.i.e., Baptist, Lutheran, you might want to check with area churches. Intro yourself and ask if they would help ya out, one congregant to another.....worked for me. Good luck. Oh yeah, one other thing. If you are allowed to park on church property, a nice 'offering' is always appriciated :)

We stayed at the LaQuinta hotel in Fll. They allow you to park free for 30 days if you stay there one night. Maybe they can work something out for the extra few days. They also have a free shuttle to the pier, but you have to make your own arrangements after your cruise.

back in 2008 we did a 30 day Maasdam r/t Canal from Ft Laud.. did the rental car thingy.. drove down the 700 miles from Myrtle Beach area where we live.... only problem is each day on a one-way rental will cost at least $125-150 per day.. if you go over the 24 hours no grace period so you'll be paying for a 2nd day's rental.. can't drop the car off until after 11am as Port Everglades won't allow you to get there earlier to drop off your luggage ..
only place to drop off rental car is at Ft Laud Airport so it'll cost a taxi for the 10 minute ride over to the port--about $15 bucks..
only benefit with rental even if you do a 2 day rental each way.. don't have to worry about your car starting...etc
we've done that Canal trip 2 more times since then.. once we parked our own car at Park n' Fly.. the last time at the Port's Garage..
Port Everglades' garage across from ship $15/day..won't discount...but is most convenient
Park n' Fly $12 a day and you get 1 day free thru HAL's site.. they pick you up and drop you off at the ship.. when you get back in to Ft Laud just call them and they'll be there withing 10-15 minutes.. faster than we thought they'd be.. they are pretty good .. we tried them 1 time also..
here's the HAL-Park n' Fly Link link .. on the left click on 'Transportation'.. then click on 'Arrival Boarding and Disembarkation'.. then 'Airport Parking' for the HAL Park n' Fly special

for our Maasdam cruise to Europe 45 days in Oct 2011 we'll most likely do a 2 day rental on the trip down and a 1 day on the way back since we don't care to fly anymore
there are a number of hotels/motels in the Ft Laud area that provide long term parking if you stay there.. some are not so good..not sure about their security etc .. just google 'cruise parking in Ft Lauderdale' for reviews..

Last time we parked at Fly and Drive they had a system where they took your bags in the parking lot and delivered them to the ship .
If I remember correctly it cost $6 a bag.

... can't drop the car off until after 11am as Port Everglades won't allow you to get there earlier to drop off your luggage .. You can't get in the building until 11:00, but it's possible to leave one person waiting on one of the outside benches with the luggage well before that, while the other goes to drop off the rental car. Or you can both go to drop the car off early, and wait there a while.

On our last cruise from Port Everglades (Feb '10) I took the bags over at 10:15. Dropped them with the porters (with tip), they had already staged the large luggage bins for the next cruise off on the right side and our bags went right in.
Went back to the hotel, picked up the rest of our party, returned to the FLL rental car center, jumped on the 11:00 free shuttle to the port, checked in and boarded at 11:30.
This allowed the rest of our party to enjoy some extra time at the hotel, no hassle with luggage and boarded the shuttle with only carry-ons vs. all our luggage.
I did check with the HAL rep. before dropping the bags.
As far as I know they are still running the free rental car shuttle both directions. Not every company participates, so confirm. We were not required to submit proof either pre-cruise or post-cruise when using the shuttle, but in both cases we were using an authorized company.
