So will our 17 and 16 year old girls be bored on Zuiderdam Western Caribbean in October? We've been on Zuiderdam before, but just the two of us without the girls. Coincidentally, we never really paid much attention to what the ship had to offer teenagers. We've decided to bring them along this year. My guess is they will be content to hang out on the pool deck with their ipods plugged into their ears all day. But, I was wondering what else the Z has to offer teenagers.

Thanks for the help.

We had friends that sailed on the Z Dec 18th. I ask their 14 year old daughter if she liked it and she did. They were only on a 5 day cruise, not sure if that will make a difference. We are going on the Zaandam in March with 14 and 16 year old girls. I know it is a different ship, but I will let you know how they liked it.

We were on the 6/11 sailing of the Zuiderdam and had 3 teens ages, 14, 15 and 18 with us. They were never bored for a minute. The youngest two said the teen club was awesome. They all made lots of friends.

Let me know if you have any specfic questions and I can ask the kids.

So will our 17 and 16 year old girls be bored on Zuiderdam Western Caribbean in October? Without knowing your girls I have no idea. Some kids go into a room full of amusement and don’t like anything. Others enter a room full of manure and search for the pony.

I took my grandkids, ages 12-18, on the Zuiderdam and they had a blast. In fact, they were so busy that the old axiom came to play…children should be heard and not seen.

We were 2 families on the April 23 Zuiderdam cruise, each with a 17 yr old girl. While they had a good time they were clearly (and vocally) disappointed at the absence of any other teens in thier age group (particularly boys). I blame the TA we used for insisting this was a teen friendly ship, because we met many other families with teens thier age at the airport both pre and post cruise but they were all doing Roayal Caribbean or Princess ships.

We were on the Zuiderdam 6/18 and my daughters 10 and 15 had a great time.

The 15 year old did say the first night was uncomfortable, they sat around not talking to each other. But by the end of the week they were all hanging around together and we hardly saw her. Nopw that we are home, they are calling and IM' ing each other. There are more organized teen activities during the days you are at sea, but they have activities every night. I have the schedules at home, I can post some if you like.

You can call Ship's Services and they can tell you how many teens will be on your cruise. Sorry I don't have the phone number with me. There may be less kids during the school year than we had in June.
Hope you all have a great time!
