I will be on the Oosterdam out of San Diego in March, and I was wondering when I can check in. My docs say that check-in starts at 11:30 AM, but I wasn't sure if that is open to everyone or only to specific groups like Mariners, people who booked the suites, etc. This is my first time on HAL so I probably wouldn't qualify if it's restricted. Can someone please clarify?

Thanks!

There are so many Mariners, they don't have a special line for them. Actually, if they did have a special Mariner line, it would be great for the non-mariners, because they would have a really short line.

Only pax in PS and S suirtes have a special line.

If docs state check-in is 11:30, that's for everybody. But remember, things sometimes change - late ship arrival, late clearance from immigration customs, etc. Be flexible.

We sailed on the O out of Seattle last year and we were allowed on the ship quite early--probably as early as about 11 or 11:30. However, we could not go to our cabin as they were still not ready. We had to go to a public area which wasn't bad and have lunch. BUT if you plan to carry a lot of luggage on with you, this may be a hassle not only for you, but for everyone else around you.

I was at the cruise terminal (San Diego) a couple of weeks ago for a presentation on the Ryndam and noted that they were letting the passengers check in as early as 10 am. Again, I don't think they were allowed to go to cabins, but you could go on the ship and enjoy it!
