Could someone tell me if the Oosterdam has to tender in the Mexican Riviera and if so, what ports?

Port congestion and ships with earlier reservations have also forced Oosterdam to tender nearly every stop at Puerto Vallarta.

Thank you. We will have to plan around those tenders then. I don't suppose Mariners or SS suites get priority tendering...do they?

Sea Island Lady, Mariners and SS suites get nothing that all the other non-S-suite passengers get, with one exception: Mariners get invited to the Mariners' Party (and the tile, of course).
Other than that, once you leave your cabin all passengers are created equal. Those of us who sail steerage get the same treatment that everyone below PH and S-categories get.

I wouldn't exactly call the SS steerage. :D
Seems that a Mariner gets nothing but a tile and a party. Celebrity and RCCL treat their C & A passengers much better.

 Neither would I.
I said I sail steerage. And when I do I enjoy all the same immenities that every non-PH/S-suite passengers enjoys.

Guess we were lucky when we were on the Statendam. There was a Princess ship at the old pier and we were at the new pier.
An RCI ship had to do the tendering.

I just checked the cruise calendar and discovered that the Oosterdam and the Carnival Pride will both be in Puerto Vallarta the same day. I've forgotten--is there pier space for two ships or just one? Will the "O" probably have to tender since they are newer to this route?
Also...
When tendering , I know S passengers have priority to take tenders to port, what about returning to ship?

I believe there's only one dockside spot, but there may be two.
"priority" tendering doesn't mean you get to go to the head of the line, by the way, just that you can join the line leaving the ship whenever you like without getting a "tender ticket". Since there's no tender tickets issued for returning to the ship there's no concept of "priority".

Thanks Dave. As usual, you're a wealth of knowledge! On our other cruises there were never any type of "priority" privileges, so I didn't know how it was set up. I appreciate info.
Did you have to tender in Puerto Vallarta on your Oosterdam cruise recently?

Yes, we tendered in PV and it wasn't a happy experience as we used port-based Princess Line tenders (with Mexican crews) rather than the ship's own boats. It took them forever to dock (both at the ship and at the port) although the water was dead calm causing big backups getting off the ship.
The Hotel Mgr did say that they would look into changing that procedure...

We where in Puerto Vallarta last week and the Pride was at pier and we tendered, has to wait 45 mins in the tender until the Pride got moored. There is only room for one ship at pier.
