What type of sofa bed is it,? Is it a pullout with mattress etc. or is it a flip futon style. Thanks for any info,

The sofa bed in the SA suites is a conventional pull-out, and I believe it has a queen mattress. My son has used the SA sofa beds numerous times, and they are reasonably comfortable as he has not requested a pad.

The sofa beds are the queen-sized pull-out type. The cabin steward will make it up daily for you, or you may request to just leave it open, but made up like a regular bed. Whatever is more convenient for you...all you need do is ask and your friendly cabin steward will honor your wishes.

Enjoy your cruise and your beautiful Deluxe Suite. You will, however, be officially spoiled forever! :)

Thanks luvs2travel..we have just returned from our first suite experience (Zuiderdam) and you are so right :) I didn't take note of what kind of sofa bed it was in our suite (corner aft) there were just the two of us ,so it was never used as a bed.

Friends of friends will need to use the sofa bed (4 in the cabin) Noordam and they were wondering. I said" I don't know ,but I know where to find out ":D Thanks again.

Hey Colleen, the Sofa in the SA's open up to Queen Sized.

Here is a photo from the Amsterdam showing the SA Sofa, the long part will open up into the bed: http://joanjett2000.topcities.com/HAL/Noordam/Noordam-7057-2.jpg

Our son has used the sofa bed in the deluxe suite twice-first time no problem, second time it was horrible even though the staff tried to fix it twice it was still extremely uncomfortable. Luck of the draw I guess.

Colleen, the SC corners have a sofa bed that is different from the SAs. (It's smaller.) It only does a center flip-over and becomes a single bed ... no folding out so it takes the same space as a bed or a sofa. That's why max occupancy is three instead of four. Wish I had a photo. Maybe I can ask our room steward to make it up just for the picture:).

Thanks... but don't you make those wonderful stewards do any more work than necessary:D

I was wondering .... when I was picturing our sofa it didn't seem like it would be a conventional pull out. but didn't know for sure. Thanks for the info.

The whole question came up because of the situation ( Two couples (non related) sharing SA.) thanks again

Just remember that if your friends do decide to keep the sofa bed open 24/7 -- it will be "Tight" to get past that open bed to get to the door to go onto the verandah.
