Those of you who have sailed the Ryndam, how do you think the amenities were for teenagers?

We are trying to decide on a New Years cruise, leaving from FL since that is where we live. A last minute decision since this port is about 10 minutes from our home.

We are very seasoned travellers, however first time cruisers (besideds the disney cruise our daughter went on last year). Pretty high expectations for food and accomodations (just being honest) so deciding which cruise line would be the best fit for us parents, and still entertaining for the teens. Heard that HAL isnt the best for kids/teens but also heard it would be a different story for a New Years Cruise.

I am a single mom with a 15 year old son. Our First time trying HAL, I've been assured there will be younger people during xmas break so we'll be on the Dec 19 - 26, 2010 out of Tampa. I've shown my son the hi-tech modern TEEN video game room photos I found on the web and he liked it for "sea" days. It looks cooler than the Arcade he played on CARNIVAL ships. Port days we will be busy with excursions (suggestions welcome, I started to look at reviews today). My first time on this website, I would like to find a thread about who is going to be on my particular cruise. I also want to see recent photos of the Ryndam so I'm looking around. Have you decided if you are going?

Harmony,
Thanks for your input. We will just miss each other, we are taking the Ryndam on the 26th from Tampa! We have been deciding between a few ships, and have not come to a conclusion yet. However, we did just learn there will be a medical conference on this one, and since one of us is an MD we are thinking about doing it for that reason. Can never really get away from work;) If you hear of any interesting excursions or any other teen amenities please let us know and we will do the same. Theres photos of the loft, but not sure what that is, just a teen club/gathering area?
