Hi, everyone. We just booked the Ryndam out of Tampa in November. We're not new to cruising, but are new to HAL and I have some questions. Are there blow dryers in the staterooms? Are you allowed to bring a limited amount of non-alcoholic beverages on board(say a 6 pack of water bottles or some juice boxes for the kids)? Are there any bathrobes in the interior staterooms? What drinks are available for free at the buffet? Are there laundry facitilites, and, if so, do they take quarters or your cruise card or something else? How are the stateroom safes locked? What is the closet and drawer situation in the interior staterooms? Also is there any counter space or storage compartments in the stateroom bathrooms?
Thanks for you help. I'll probably be back on here with more questions as they occur to me. By the way, I am so excited about the cruise.:)

Yes there are blow dryers, most seem to find them adequate, others not.
You can bring as much Water, Soda, Wine/Champagne as you wish, I imagine they would not object to juice boxes. Beer and Hard Liquor are not allowed to be brought on board by policy.
All Staterooms have bathrobes.
Coffee, hot chocolate, tea, water, milk, juices (large variety, selection will vary by meal)
There are Self-service laundries on the Ryndam, They take quarters $2 to wash (soap provided) $1 to dry, bring your own dryer sheets.
Not sure about Ryndams' safes.
Hal Staterooms tend to have very generous storage. There are both counter and shelf storage in the bathroom. Some bring "over the door" shoe organizers to hold bathroom and other items in.

In Ryndam's drydock, she got some small glass bathroom shelving above the bathroom vanity, on the side wall, in the interior cabins. Also a metal shelf under the sink to hold "stuff". There is no longer a longish metal shelf between the mirror and the vanity. At least that's my recollection :)
edited to add: There is room on each side of the sink (not a lot, but some) to hold things, too. And lots of storage in the cabin. Several closets, 6 drawers in the desk/dresser in the cabin I was in, and 2 drawers in each of the night tables.

The safes on the Ryndam are the type that allow you to enter your own 4-digit code to set the lock and then open it, using a keypad on the safe door. We sailed on her last month. Have a great cruise! :)
