We're booked on the Oosterdam for Thanksgiving week cruising the Mexican Riviera. Thanksgiving is a sea day. Do they do anything special? Is there a traditional turkey dinner? I know on Princess, they have a whole pumpkin-themed meal.

Just wondering what to expect

Thanks!

We've sailed many time during U.S Thanksgiving (we're Canadians, so enjoy having 2 Thanksgivings :D ) and yes, they have the traditional turkey dinner - don't know about pumpkin pie, as we don't like it, but I think they do.

I've seen the traditional turkey dinner as one of your choices Thanksgiving evening. However, there aren't any other acknowledgements of the holiday. We're cruising in foreign counties, with passengers from several different countries, so it made sense to me to not be celebrating a holiday that only exists in the USA.

I have been on HAL for several Thanksgivings. They always had traditional food options for each course. This is when I learned about the many varied ways our various "Moms" did the stuffing/dressing. The stuffing/dressing was the only real disappointment for me. It just was not like "Mom" made it.

they frequently bring on a Protestant minister to hold thanksgiving service, too.
