What does HAL do for Valentine's Day? I'll be on the Maasdam at this time. Wow it posted this time.

We embarked on the Veendam last year on Feb. 14th and as we boarded the ship each lady was given a lovely long stem red rose. Other than that I can't remember them doing anything special.

We were on the Noordam one year for Valentine's Day - only those of us in the top category got a red rose. Otherwise - nothing else.

Another year we were on the Zaandam - nothing for anyone anywhere.

Last year on Maasdam, the lounges were decorated with red and white balloons and the officers (male and female) danced with the pax in the Crow's Nest. It was a formal night.

This was a first after 15 Valentine's Day cruises on HAL. In previous years, the women received roses as they left the dining room. That seemed to stop about five years ago.

I remember receiving a red rose in the dining room in the past on Valentine's Day. It has been a while since we were aboard on that day.
