I've only used Port Canaveral once, on my very first cruise, so I'm no expert. However, my office has used Orlando as a base for its national training conference for years and I personally ran those for 5 years. My experience....things are expensive in the area. Did a little research this AM and came across the attached site. I'm not advocating using them just pointing the site out as it has some information that might be helpful to you. http://www.aceluxury.com/portcanaveral.htm Also found a link to the port authority and their information on ground transportation. http://www.portcanaveral.org/portinfo/groundtrans.htm

Are you referring to Melbourne?

I wasn't too sure myself but the links are for Port Canaveral so the information should work for all the surrounding area.

I saw MLB going to Port Canaveral and I thought maybe the deal to move the Expos to DC had failed.

MLB is about 1/3 closer to Port Canaveral, but since the airport is not easily accessible from an expressway the trip from MCO is the same, quicker if you speed. The Beeline Expressway goes directly from MCO to Port Canaveral. From MLB you have to take several surface streets to either US 1 (slow), A1A(slower) or I-95(quick, but involves a bit of backtracking). That said, MLB only has scheduled service by one carrier (Delta/Delta Connection) and it is never crowded.

I had a similar thought, but couldn't figure out why Major League Baseball was moving to the port.

Here are some taxis that I got out of the Space Coast phone book. I have not use any of them my self.

Melbourne Airport Terminal taxi: 321-724-1600. I call them and was told that for 1 to 4 people it will cost $48. each extra person will add $12.

Dave's Taxi 321-722-2010

Blue Dolphin Shuttle 321-728-9944

I hope that this helps. We live about 35 minutes from the port.
