Just checked the HAL website and noticed there's a 3-day sale going on, not sure when it started... Our cruise is down $100 pp, and it's almost 6 months away. We have a guarantee so have asked TA to adjust. $200 is more spending money onboard or excursions. :)

I noticed the three day sale but the price of the cruise we're looking at isn't any less. Does anyone know if $699 and up is normal for bermuda in May? Just curious if other categories will come down...

I also looked at my sailing and it is higher than when I booked it so not much to do here.
Thanks for the tip

It might come down - but that's the lowest I saw it this year.

Our Maasdam cruise in late March is holding the line. No change since we booked it in the summer. :( Seems that it's not selling all that well only because my searches keep coming up with the same cabins available week after week but since there's no way to see the whole ship's inventory easily or quickly it's really hard to tell. Oh well.....

We did the 14 Night Alaska cruise last year and the price never changed.I did find my room through another vendor cheaper, but that was nine months out and T/A did honor it,That was the only chage I noticed. And believe me I checked.
It is a magnificent cruise and we both loved it.

We booked through this sale.We were not planning on cruising this year, but the deal was great for the time we could go.Usually Holliday Cruises are expensive and we have to pass it up.Broward County's Spring Break is early this year and not at the same time as Easter or Passover. So we are excited to have booked The Westerdam for Spring Break.

You are talking about the Never ending Three Day Sale that is always going on  HAL has become like the Car Ads that make it sound like you need to hurry up and buy. Sorry to say but the Three Day sale is almost always going on some times the price might have gone down some times it goes up. Most of the time it is exactly where it was a month ago. The only time that yes the prices doe actually go down is about 65 days from sailing depending on how many are remaining HAL will place cabins on the Flash promotion, these are normally Inside M and Ocean View H or HH or Balcony VF and they will almost always be guarantees. Sometimes there will be SZ Superior Verandah. But these are for new bookings only.

I checked the 'three day sale' prices against what we are paying for two of our cruises that are listed and the price was higher on both from what we are paying.

The prices are waaaaaay lower for mine.
I e-mailed my TA.
If he doesn't reply, that's it for him. I will move on!

Laffen,
I was going to post the same thing. The cruiselines seem to have a three day sale every week.
The prices are insane. I see $ 339 for a number of HAL Ships.

Ours went down $100 each, and we're not going until March. So far our 28 day Panama Canal has gone down $400. each, since booking. That's a lot of extra spending money! I'll keep watching!

DH and I saved almost $300 pp:D. I happened to read the post @9PM last night; my TA was not going to be in the office until Monday, which would have been too late! I phoned immediately and left a message for him, knowing he usually checked his messages on Saturday. He phoned with the "good news" this morning. What I found amazing, is that we will have an outside guarantee, for a 13 day Fort Lauderdale to Montreal at a smaller price than a 7 day inside RT Boston cost 3 years ago!
In addition, this "savings" will pay for our airfare from Montreal to our daughter's "Master of Education" graduation!

:D Wow! So glad you were able to get such a good savings, Kay240! This will make your cruise even sweeter. Obviously, not all sailings/dates will prices go down, but good to act on those that do. A little checking now and then is a good idea. And, such a relief to have a TA that will act so quickly. They will have you as customers forever!

We were fortunate in that for our august 14 day AK trip last year, it DID get reduced several times- some of them on the 3 day sale.

I just checked our B2B cruise on Nieuw Amsterdam. We had a J cabin on main deck, but the price had not changed. When I checked other categories, I noticed the VH Guarantee was only $70 more per person.
The only problem is that I will need a new booking number and then there is the chance of loosing my Retreat Cabana reserv. The HAL rep changed my price to the non flash sale price ($170pp) which will let me keep the same booking number. He said to call back tomorrow when ship services is also working and to ask for the lower price. I think he said ship services should be able to transfer my excursion/indulg. purchases to my new booking number.
A few hoops to jump throught for sure, but then we will have a veranda!
I hope the fellow knows what he's talking about.

I know this is probably a stupid question, but I am curious...What happens if a cruise goes down once you have made the final payment? We are sailing on the Maasdam January 7th in a suite and it looks like the categories have gone down but not ours:(.....Thanks for your help

If you are in a Suite absolutely nothing after final :(
Obviously before Final yes. Now if you were in a Verandah Suite such as an A and the price of the S Suite went down close to what you paid and or the same then they will let you upgrade and pay the difference as long as it is NOT a Flash rate. Flash Rates are for New bookings only.
The chances for an S Suite on the Maasdam to go down is very slim.

The Veranda has a view but is smaller cabin with way less storage and floor space... than the inside J,
Several persons have written that when friends in a outside veranda say the inside J they were sorry to have not booked the J.... and likely is way more than their Veranda... which is way less convienient to everyhting as well.
I myself, after reviewing all the facts would not go for what I see as a downgrade of a change from the J.
I hope you enjoy your new pick... and it is what you really want.

That's not true on the S- and R-class ships.
It isn't even true for many of the J-category cabins on the Vista/Signature class ships. It's only true on the J-category cabins on Main Deck on the Vista and Signature ships.

Yes, I know that the cabin is a lot smaller, but I don't think it will bother me for the price difference.
We had a J on maindeck on our last cruise.
I will definitely go back to a J cabin on Maindeck on our next cruise.
