Vista Class SS -- Deck Preference ??

Same location mid-ship category SS.... Any reason to prefer Upper Verandah deck 6 or Navigation deck 8 ? http://messages.cruisecritic.com/images/smilies/confused.gif Anyone stayed on both decks?

I would select Upper Verandah because it's lower and not directly under a public area.

We were in SS 6060 on the Oosterdam and it was the quietest cabin we'd ever had. I don't recall ever hearing any noise from above or below us and very little hallway noise. Seas weren't too bad during our 7 day cruise so no sense of motion the whole cruise. I've been on higher decks....particularly right under the pool and had experienced some sound from deck chairs being moved around but that was mostly during the day and early morning when the crew was cleaning up/resetting the lounges....certainly not enough to wake us up...and only noticed it on those mornings I was up early to watch us come into port. Truth is that it wasn't particularly disturbing so I wouldn't let that stop you. The only thing that ever happened was one morning on the Ryndam when they washed down the deck above us.....so much water got on our verandah that it came in through the door even though it was closed. Mentioned it to the room stewart and it never happened again....think there was something wrong with the door seal that they fixed.

We were on the upper verandah deck on the Zuiderdam and on the Navigation deck on the Oosterdam. If I had to choose I would definately go for the Navigation deck again. Never heard any noise from above and we were right below the Lido. It was so nice to grab lunch and be close enough that we could take it back to our cabin and eat out on our balcony. Never had to worry about fighting for a table on the lido.
