Our neice is coming from Toronto, Canada for a visit and we are joining her on her first cruise. (Veendam) out of Tampa Feb. 12/05. The 14th of Feb. is her birthday and the 14th is also our 21st anniversary. She has opted to share a cabin. She says,"hopefully it will be a pleasant adventure". I was wondering if there were other singles out there who also have signed up to share a cabin? She is a fun loving, brilliant, attractive, athletic, outgoing, single young lady and around 40 years old. I'm sure she would be interested in getting acquainted, via e-mail, with either male or female cruisers. She will not want to spend all of her time with the "older relatives". I will forward your e-mails to her.
This is the first time we have sailed with HAL and hope it will be a pleasant experience. We usually cruise with Royal Carribean, Princess, Celebrity or the Carnival lines. This will be an experience for us too. I don't like all the negatives about this, "sick ship". I hope that good handwashing techniques will take care of it.
Two more weeks!

Your niece won't have to keep with you to have company. There will be a Solo Traveler's get-together; she should attend. There will be plenty of games---like team trivia---where she will meet people. There will be lots of folks enjoying the various lounges---or lounge chairs. All she has to do is strike up a conversation.

I've cruised solo extensively both before I married and after I was widowed. It's a great way to travel alone. And she isn't! She has you!

I've also done the single share routine twice on very long cruises. It worked well enough that I'm doing it again this summer.

Worry not. You will all have a wonderful time.
