Westerdam Coffee

Does the Westerdam have a coffee (and tea, hot chocolate and cookies) bar
similar to the Java Cafe on the Zaandam. Just a place or corner somewhere to
get a cup of coffee and read or watch people go by without going up to the
Lido deck? We were on the Zaandam in Oct 04 and it was great.

The have the Windstar Cafe, but the coffee is not free like the Java Cafe - very nominal charge, but worth it. It was excellent as were the FREE pastries.

There are a couple of different sizes, like Starbucks.


The chairs are not very comfortable, so we would take our coffee and sit either in the Ocean Bar or Explorer's Lounge and read.

That is what we did on Zuiderdam.

Got our coffee and went to Ocean Bar with it.

No comfortable chairs in the Windstar Cafe. And a lot of times the few tables and chairs were taken up by crad and game players. Do like many of us have done, buy your coffee and sit in the confortable chairs in the other lounges. The Explorer's Lounge is usually the quietest as the Ocean Bar usually has some type of trivia games going on which can get a little noisy.

On the Vista ships there are actually 2 completely separate sections/sides to the Ocean Bar, so if some type of game is going on in one section, you can just move to the other.

Most of the other side of Ocean Bar is a smoking section. Seeing as it is long and narrow, if many people are smoking there, it can be uncomfortable to sit there.

Right - on the Vista class ships, when trivia games are held and art auction takes place, they usually have them on the non-smoking side of the Ocean Bar. The smoking side is too smoky for us.
