Is anyone going on the Celebration on the 18th March 2011 for the Ancient Odyssey tour and if anyone's been is it a good cruise?

Hi there, we are also booked on this cruise. Chose the cruise due to ports of call - all look exciting. We have visited some of the places before so we will probably spend those days relaxing and just mooching around ( providing the weather permits )

Have been on Spirit twice and really enjoyed it, we like the size of ship and also the open dining. Hope Celebration is as friendly as Spirit - that's the main reason for coming back with Thomson again. They seem to have just the right balance between friendliness and professionalism.

We are a party of 4,so far, but others may join us. Hope someone else joins the roll call.

Hi Jan,

I think you will find Celebration at least as friendly as the crew on Spirit. For a while we thought Celebration had the edge in this respect over Spirit but there's very little between them and we enjoyed being on the Spirit on our last trip just as much as on the Celebration. It's a great strength of the Thomson ships. We too love the friendliness and service on board - as you say the balance seems right - for us as least. Relaxed, not pretentious but very civilised and professional.

We're on Celebration the month after you so we too are looking forward to visiting this area which is new to us. I'd love to hear about your experiences of the ports of call when you get back and what you thought of any of the excursions if you did some. Have a great time! :)

Hi

I have just booked this cruise, the ports of call look really good, I have been on the Red sea magic cruise on the Celebration although it was 3 years ago, and although the ship is a bit dated we all found the staff and the relaxed atmosphere on the ship really good, when we did the red sea, we dined at the Lido as there were some fairly long day trips, but we then did the Baltic cruise on the spirit the following year and made time to sit in the main restaurant and am glad we did, it was superb, I just hope the weather holds up all on the trips we want to do, and i'm sure we will have a fab time.

The only potential drawback is that for some of the ports of call it is a little early in the year for reliable weather - but the itinerary is great.
