View Full Version : Hal's Web Site For Shore Excursions?

I have been trying to access HAL's web site to book my excursions for my Volendam cruise and it keeps saying this page can't be accessed. This past weekend, I was successfull in booking the Zuiderdam excursions. Is it me or is there something wrong with the web site? I e-mailed HAL last night to notify them of this problem, this morning, same problem.

On Saturday we were able to book a couple of excursions for the first 10 days on the Volendam and one for the second 10 days.
Didn't have any problems then.

I think it has something to do with the work computer. My friend just did her immigration form and had no problems. With all my computer problems, I'll have to use my sister's or friends computer. Thanks.

I have had problems on and off over the past week with trying to access various parts of HAL's Web site, both at work and at home. Sometimes it works fine, other times I get timeout errors while trying to access pages. I think there may be intermittent problems with their system.

doone, I just booked two excursions this morning with no problem. Now in the past I have had problems with their Immigration form on line. I plan to do that in the next few days so we shall see.

This actually happened to me while I was using Netscape but when I switched to my Internet Explorer connection, things worked fine. You might give that a try, Doone. :)

Not only could I not access the excursions to try to book some, it told me my booking had been CANCELLED and this area required a legitimate booking number! After a call to my TA to confirm that we hadn't been cancelled (whew!!), she said it must be HAL's problem.
What I couldn't figure out was that I had accessed the site (with the same booking #) a few days earlier with no problem. I just couldn't remember which browser I had used to do it.
For me, the following browsers did NOT work: Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari....the only one that did work was the slowest one of the lot....Netscape! But at least HAL finally acknowledged our booking number and let me "in."
So what browser may work for one person, may not be the one that works for another. Best advice....try em' all and hope for the best.

I got my shore excursions booked last night, used my sisters computer and had no problem at all. Now I am all set on the excursions, just waiting for HAL to confirm our reservation in the Pinnacle Grill for the first night onboard. I guess when you have a party of 6 or more, they have to contact the ship after you fax them a reservation form. Strange, I booked 5 of us for the first night on the Zuiderdam at the Pinnacle, but that one extra person threw a monkey wrench into the whole thing. Hope it works out, we love the Pinnacle.

I can't figure out why HAL hasn't confirmed your first night at the Pinnacle. Granted it isn't as big as the Vista class ships, but having dined at the Marco Polo (same restaurant on the Volendam) there are several tables that can accommodate a party of six.
Hope you hear soon from them.

GREAT, what time is your reservation? Ours is 7:30 pm.
Ours is at 6:30 so I guess we'll just be leaving as you are coming in. :)
