March 2012-Hong Kong to Vancouver, Zaandam, questions

has anyone ever done this crossing - what are the seas like from Kobe, through to Alaska, to Vancouver that time of year??

any opinions, experiences, about the itinerary would be appreciated.

We sailed Osaka Japan to Vancouver BC Apr 97, on Sky Princess.

Waters somewhat choppy between Vladivostok and the Aleutian Islands, and it was extremely cold. There was a lot of ice build-up, and the outer decks were closed for a day or two.

Druke I, what was the weather like in Northern Japan at that time of year. I just got off the Maasdam's Montreal to Fort Lauderdale cruise two weeks ago and found that I could have used my parka in a couple of the Canadian ports. Would you suggest that?
