Hi,
Last year we booked a future cruise with HAL while on board and transferred the booking to a TA once we got back home. We decided not to go with HAL this year canceled the cruise and booked another cruise with Princess. I am wondering what happens to the deposit? Does it sit with HAL or the TA? Suppose I do not want to use that TA anymore?
Thanks for you help...

when you bought it , it was good for 5 years then refundable if not used. If the TA has it then I would just leave it be until you decide what you are going to do. u may decide to use it in the future. Who knows.
I have a HAL and a Princess and have just used the HAL.
BTW we love the Grand. Two cruises on her.

The cruise deposit that youb bought is good for only 4 years and is NOT refundable. Since you bought it last year you have 3 years left to book a HAL cruise or you will lose it.
If you decide to go to another TA to book a HAL cruise in those 3 years, just have that new TA call HAL and get the reference number of that deposit.

I don't know about your TA, but mine never "has" the deposit. All my deposits go straight to HAL, whether made on board or not.

KK,
Ok thanks, so I do not need to call the old TA and ask them to release it or something?

So once we canceled the cruise with the TA the deposit sits with HAL?, and I use the term "sits" meaning that I do not need to call the TA when I choose to re-book a cruise?

I should have looked first. I have a Princess FCC that is good for four years and says "it will automatically be refunded"..
My HAL one says "non-refundable" and good for four years.
Sorry.............

I'd suggest you call HAL to check on the status.
