I am just curious with all of you talking about the Maasdam-is JP Nadeau still the pianist in the piano bar? We enjoyed him so much last March! Just wondering if he is still around. If he is any future Maasdam cuisers you should definately stop by to see him-he's a riot!!

What makes him so good?
What era/style of music is his forte?
Does he encourage sing-a-longs, even when it isn't part of the daily events?
How is he at musical games or themes?
Since I've been known to close the Piano Bar on more than one occasion (ok, a lot more than one occasion), and since I'll be spending several weeks on the Maasdam this summer, I'd be interested in all you have to say about JP Nadeau.
Thanks.

JP is just one of those comical individuals that can keep you entertained no matter what. He encouraged sing a longs and could play a variety of selections ranging from showtunes, top 40, country, and golden oldies. There was something for people of all ages. He also was very personable and we talked extensively with him about his travels and career in the entertainment industry.

Thanks for a very prompt reply.
Maybe someday I'll be able to see exactly what you mean.

We thoroughly enjoyed JP Nadeau on our Panama Canal cruise in 2000. Even purchased his cd titled "Almost Famous". On that cruise we hadn't visited the Piano bar until the last week, but after the first time we returned every night until the end of the cruise. JP is very personable and a delightful showman. He seems to have an endless repetoire and entertains audience requests and conducts sing-alongs. He even played some brief classical selections that were requested. On the first night we visited, he asked our names and then introduced us to everybody in attendance. On subsequent nights, he welcomed us by name. His wild rendition of Piano Man is something we will always remember! I really hope he will be on the Maasdam for our cruise on August 2nd.

JP is now on the Regal Princess Panama Canal cruise. I, too, am a BIG fan and am boarding the Regal next Monday for 15 days with JP to Ft. Lauderdale. He loves being on Princess - last year he was on the Island Princess, then took a few months off. Don't know how long this contract is for him but I'm looking forward to many hours with him at the piano. :D

Didn't get to hear him when we were on the Maasdam in May.
HAL let another good entertainer slip through their fingers?

M. Nadeau did not preside over the piano bar on Maasdam 11/20-11/30. The gentleman who did (sorry; check my review for his name) was excellent and a treat. Piano bar was a special event in the day for us.

Thanks for the info-last March JP said that his contract was up soon and he did not know what he was going to do. Glad to hear he is on Princess; maybe we will see him soon.
