Oh my gosh! :eek: We had 120 mph. winds and 50 foot swells on our overnight crossing October 24th from Toulon France to Barcelona Spain on our Navigator Transatlantic. It was just noisy and rolling...but I didn't even know they had weather like that in Europe! :)

That would freak me out. Isn't that the amount of hurricane winds?

The Atlantic in autumn/winter is a rough old ocean, and when there are tail-ends of Caribbean hurricanes to add to the mix, it can get very rough indeed. We had 80mph winds on top of nearby cliffs, and the not-so high, high tide was up the slipway and into the road....if it had been a spring tide, like last's week's new moon, then it would have been incredibly dramatic!
