I guess a tour or walking around is really our only option. We don't want to go to the pool or beach because we are doing that at our 2 other stops.
This island seems a little boring for us:(
Can you just walk around when you get off the ship? Do we dock near anything? Can you grab a tour taxi at the port?
TIA:)

Yes, there is a large cruise center at the end of the pier with a Duty Free shop, several jewelry stores, a Ron Jon Surf Shop, Margaritaville and several souvenir shops. I don't think Cockburn Town is in walking distance, but I'm not sure. There are taxis and also golf carts for rent to tour the island on your own. I can't give you details on the golf carts or taxis since we didn't use those, but there are several posts on these boards about the golf carts if that would be something you were interested in. Our day in Grand Turk was spent at the beach & the "conch shell graveyard", Jack's Shack, some time at Margaritaville and about an hour browsing the shops at the cruise center. Hope this helps.

You can easily walk from the cruise port to both Jack's Shack and Governor's Beach. The cruise port is located 4 miles south of town. You can grab a taxi at the port and ask the driver for a tour of the island.
Grand Turk is famous for its beautiful water and the Grand Turk "wall" in the National Marine Park, so snorkeling, diving and "beaching" are some of the most popular activities on island.

Is the "wall" in the National Marine Park near Jack's shack? If not how do I get there?
Thanks!

The "wall" is 1/4-1/2 mile offshore, so your best bet to get to the wall in the marine park is to take a snorkel or dive boat either through the ship or through one of the independent operators in town. Here is some information from the TCI tourist board: http://www.turksandcaicostourism.com/activities-grand-turk.html

"The wall" is where the bottom of the ocean drops suddenly and dramatically. When we dove in Grand Turk we were diving, the dive master had us swim over the area, you look down, and see no end to the water below. Needless to say, I came swam back to where there was a bottom.

We understand that Grand Turk is a small island. What should we expect to pay for a one hour tour of the island by taxi? Can previous travelers recommend a particular driver or company with whom we might book in advance? Should we, instead, just take our chances and take the first taxi that comes along? Then we thought we'd just finish off the day at Jack's Shack beach and walk back to the ship!
